We are a family of 5. Mum and Dad- who both work- a 15 year old son who starts GCSEs this coming year and is away at a weekly boarding school and a 10 year old daughter who will be doing her common entrance this coming January and needs a lot of support. Our son is fantastic and has Aspergers, which manifests itself in off-beat humour, thoughtfulness and some social awkwardness. Our daughter is dyslexic and is very sweet and hard-working. Our 3 year old labradoodle is energetic, gentle and needs daily showers after his twice daily mucky walks.
As parents we are somewhat unconventional and have a "loud" and humour-filled environment! Mum is an entrepreneurial Canadian and runs a busy catering company and cookery school from home. Dad works in property in a family business.
As busy parents heading into a tricky school year we are looking for someone who will be dedicated to our daughter's substantial homework and exam preparations, as well as after school care. Duties may sometimes involve picking up or returning our son to his school ( in a provided car) which is an hour and a half drive from our home, so preference given to candidates with a clean driving record.
This position would be ideal for someone who needs some time to study or work another job, however, it is a full time job, as we will require flexibility on hours when Mum has to work evenings or weekends during Christmas season and May, June July or if we go away, as we don't have family to help with babysitting. Child-related light housework & shopping will be required - we have a cleaner 15 hours per week. You must be organised.
You need to be a native english speaker, vibrant, intelligent, stimulating, energetic, independent, fun and flexible. We've had fantastic and well-loved male and female nannies previously (our most recent leaving after 5 years to get married) and position is "Live-in or Live-out".
Start is officially from September but we are also flexible in terms of start date for the right candidate. Please only experienced and native english speakers apply
