If you are hiring an au-pair you might wish to consider a Swedish candidate.
Sweden has been a member of the European Union for many years and Swedish
au-pairs can therefore work for you without a work permit for
as long as you/they wish. They are allowed to work more than 20-25 hours,
unlike au-pairs from some other countries. They do not have to
attend English classes in order to be allowed to work as au-pairs which will
allow you to have a more flexible schedule. Most Swedish au-pairs will
have studied English since childhood and will therefore have a
very good standard of the language.
